Dental Implants

Elevating smile restoration to a new standard of excellence.

Southern California implant dentistry

Rejuvenate your smile with strong, natural-looking tooth replacements

Missing teeth make it hard to bite and chew, limiting what foods you can eat comfortably. Each tooth that goes missing or becomes unsalvageable puts additional strain on your remaining teeth, leading to more damage and tooth loss. With advancements in tooth restoration, we can restore any missing teeth with dental implants.

Dental implants can restore your smile's complete strength and natural beauty, whether you're missing a single tooth or considering full mouth dental implants as an alternative to ill-fitting dentures. Our American Dental Health Providers team has the advanced training and surgical technology to rebuild your smile with affordable dental implants in Downey, Fallbrook, Torrance and Long Beach, CA.

What is a dental implant?

Dental implants stand out as the premier choice for replacing missing teeth due to their ability to closely replicate the appearance and function of natural teeth. The implant post is surgically placed directly into the supporting bone tissue, substituting the natural tooth root.

An abutment attaches securely to the post, forming a customized connection point for the restoration — typically a crown or bridge — that completes the structure. Together, these components ensure optimal chewing function, durability, longevity, and a natural aesthetic, making dental implants an unparalleled solution for tooth replacement.

Treatment options

Versatile options for every tooth replacement need

The right approach depends on how many teeth are missing, where they sit, and the condition of the supporting bone. All four options below are planned and placed by the same team.

Single Implants

A single dental implant is the ideal replacement method if you're missing one tooth or individual teeth in different mouth areas. Other options, like traditional dental bridges, involve working on otherwise healthy neighboring teeth to support a replacement, making a dental implant a more conservative option from a dental health perspective.

Each tooth that goes missing puts excess strain on the remaining teeth, which can lead to further damage and tooth loss. A dental implant prevents damage by rebuilding a functional, balanced bite while blending seamlessly with the rest of your smile.

Dental Bridges

When multiple teeth are missing in one area, a dental bridge supported by implants offers a stable and long-lasting solution. An implant-supported bridge is much more functional than a partial denture, which can't stand up to crunchy or chewy foods and can even wear down your natural teeth over time.

Unlike traditional bridges, implant-supported bridges don't rely on neighboring teeth for support. This preserves the health of your remaining natural teeth and ensures a more secure fit. This makes them more versatile, as they don't require stable teeth on both sides of a gap.

Implant-Supported Dentures

For those needing to replace a full arch of teeth, implant-supported dentures provide superior stability and comfort compared to traditional dentures. These dentures snap onto specialized abutments, eliminating the worry of slipping and allowing you to eat, speak, and smile confidently.

However, you'll still be able to remove your prosthesis for easy cleaning at home. Implant-supported dentures are also generally a more cost-efficient option for those looking for affordable dental implants.

Full Mouth Dental Implants

Full mouth dental implants are the gold-standard solution to complete tooth loss. With a few strategically placed implant posts, we can rebuild your entire smile with strong, durable restorations that look, feel, and function like healthy natural teeth.

Because full mouth dental implants are permanently fixed in place, you'll never have to worry about leaving your teeth in a glass at night. This allows us to craft your new smile from heavier, more durable materials that retain their beauty, resist stains, and fully restore your ability to eat without limitations.

Our customized implant process

Four steps, clearly explained before anything begins

You'll know the plan, the sequence, and the cost before treatment starts. No step happens without your informed agreement.

Step One

Your comprehensive consultation

We understand how intimidating the idea of dental implant surgery can be. During your first visit, we want to get to know you and understand how your oral health problems have affected your life. We'll collect detailed digital diagnostic images to evaluate the condition of your jawbone and surrounding structures and perform a thorough examination to identify any other treatment needs, such as tooth extractions or bone grafts.

We will then create a personalized treatment plan that outlines the steps of your implant procedure, tailored to your specific needs. We'll always take the time to ensure you understand our recommendations and feel confident making informed decisions about your care.

Step Two

The procedure

Depending on your specific needs, we may need to prepare a strong foundation for your implants by removing unsalvageable teeth or rebuilding adequate bone volume. As with every procedure at American Dental Health Providers, you'll rest comfortably with safe and effective dental sedation.

We'll make a small incision in the gums to access the underlying bone and place your implants into predetermined spots within your jawbone. Once placed, we will attach an abutment connector and affix your temporary restoration. This temporary restoration will allow you to enjoy all the benefits of your new smile immediately, meaning you will never go without teeth.

Step Three

Follow-up to monitor progress

Over the next several months, your implant posts will fuse to the surrounding bone during osseointegration. We will schedule a follow-up visit to monitor the healing process and address any questions you may have. During this visit, we will check the progress of osseointegration. We will adjust your temporary prosthesis to ensure comfort and proper fit if necessary.

Step Four

Get ready to celebrate your new smile

Once your mouth has healed, you'll return to our office for updated scans and to have your final restorations placed.

This final restoration is hand-crafted from the highest-quality material and built to last. With proper at-home care and regular checkups, your dental implants have the potential to last an entire lifetime!

Avoid making costly mistakes

Am I a candidate for dental implants?

Dental implants are a lifetime investment in your health, function, and quality of life. Avoid the common mistakes people make when considering implants by following our recommendations.

Most patients who are missing one or more teeth are candidates. Others qualify after preparatory treatment such as bone grafting or extraction of unsalvageable teeth. Candidacy is confirmed only after a comprehensive consultation, 3D imaging, and a review of your medical history — not from a photo or a phone call.

  • Missing one tooth, several teeth, or a full arch
  • Struggling with a loose or painful denture
  • Facing extraction of teeth that cannot be saved
  • Previously told you lacked the bone volume for implants — ask us about zygomatic implants

Dental implant questions, answered

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant comprises three parts — a titanium or ceramic post, an abutment, and a restoration. Built to function like natural tooth roots, dental implants provide bone support and a stable foundation for a single dental crown, a dental bridge, a denture, or a full arch prosthesis.

Who is a candidate for dental implants?

Many patients are already candidates for dental implants or can qualify after receiving preparatory treatments like bone grafting and tooth extractions. Candidacy is more accurately determined after comprehensive consultation and evaluation with an implant dentist.

How much does treatment cost?

The cost of dental implants is based on many factors, including how many teeth are missing and for how long, the materials used, and what additional procedures are needed. Our team can help you apply for dental financing and will file insurance claims on your behalf to help you afford treatment.

How long is the treatment process?

Dental implant treatment can range from a few months to over a year. In many cases, implants can be surgically placed soon after the consultation and treatment plan are complete. For patients needing bone grafting, this may be a separate procedure requiring several months of healing before dental implant surgery. After dental implants are placed, healing can take 3+ months before optimal integration is achieved, and a final restoration can be permanently attached. In many cases, patients can wear a temporary restoration during healing.

How long can I expect dental implants to last?

Dental implants are designed to last for decades and potentially last for the rest of your life. Surgical technology, clinical experience, and your health habits ultimately affect the longevity of your implants. Choosing an experienced implant team like ours provides more precise and accurate surgery that better guarantees the long-term success of your treatment.

Will I be without teeth during treatment?

In most cases, no. Once your implants are placed we attach an abutment connector and affix a temporary restoration, so you leave with teeth and can enjoy the benefits of your new smile immediately while osseointegration completes underneath.
